FLUID MANAGEMENT

Trying to lose weight? It is as simple as it is. Lose weight by drinking more water.
Keep your skin youthful, stay hydrated, feel great!

Forget diet pills and cleanses. An effective weight-loss aid is available straight from your kitchen sink - WATER

Drinking at least two 8-ounce glasses of water before breakfast, lunch, and dinner while also cutting back on portions may help you lose weight and keep it off for at least a year.
How much water should you drink each day?
It's a simple question with no easy answers. Studies have produced varying recommendations over the years, but in truth, your water needs depend on many factors, including your
a) health,
b) how active you are
c) where you live.
Health benefits of water:

Water is your body's principal chemical component and makes up about 60 percent of your body weight. Every system in your body depends on water. For example, water flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues.
Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don't have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions. Even mild dehydration can drain your energy and make you tired.

How much water do we need?

Every day you lose water through your breath, perspiration, urine and bowel movements. For your body to function properly, you must replenish its water supply by consuming beverages and foods that contain water.

Adequate intake for average, healthy men is roughly 3 liters (about 13 cups) of total beverages a day. For women it is 2.2 liters (about 9 cups) of total beverages a day.

If you are more active, you should drink more water.

Drinking too much water can cause a problem

  • if you have any kidney or adrenal problems, or your doctor has you taking diuretics, you need to consult with your doctor about how much water to drink each day
  • do not drink all of the water you need per day all at once. Divide the amount you need and drink several glasses of water throughout the day. This is especially important if you engage in lots of heavy exercise.
  • infants should be given only formula or breast milk unless your pediatrician tells you otherwise.
